On Tuesday, Isiolo Senator Mrs. Fatuma Dhullo took to her Facebook page to announce that following her lobbying and close engagement with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, the government has heeded to her(senator) call and are in the process of drilling several boreholes in various parts across the County which will ensure that residents have access to clean and safe source of water without having to travel to long distances to get the same. Thirteen(13) precisely.
The post which came with a photo of a headed letter from the Senator's office as shown below👇 went viral garnering over a hunnid(100) likes, dozens of comments congratulating her 'efforts' and about twenty(20) shares which could possibly translate to thousands if not tens of thousands in views has since infuriated a section of the county officials who claim the senator is 'reaping where she did not sow' as the request for boreholes to be drilled in the area came from the county government and verily spearheaded by the Governor following acute water shortage which gripped Isiolo County in recent days which makes them wonder how she arrived at this conclusion 'while she knows all too well that she wasn't part of the process .' They further allege that her actions amount to 'misuse of social media' and called on the public to 'ignore the fake news emanating from the Senator's page'.

The officials who reached out to us on condition of anonymity since they are 'just junior clerks and have no authority to represent the administration' allege they are infuriated by this as it could potentially 'mislead' thousands while 'nothing could be further from the truth'.
They termed Senators Dullo's actions as 'corny' and also lamented that "her newest political modus operandi is 'dangerous' and could end up 'discouraging' the leaders who are serving the public 'genuinely' which they allege will be bad for the future of development in the region as it brings confusion as to which leader(s) are genuinely championing for the advancement of the society's welfare and which ones are are 'politicising' the development projects in the region'' alluding to Senator Dhullo's vehement opposition of the Living Goods project which they claim has been hailed as one of the most revolutionary people-based healthcare policies in the country and that 'had she had her way, the people of Isiolo county would have lost big', our source emphasized.

They are now calling on the senator to retract her statement and offer apologies for 'misleading the public' and 'intentionally for that matter' further insisting that 'should she not own up to her mistakes', they would be forced to produce the necessary paperwork that prove her statement as 'blatant and concocted pack of lies which will not stand the slightest scrutiny'.
They have also challenged her to produce the paper trail or photo session of her(Senator's) 'so-called "engagements" with the Ministry of Agriculture,Livestock and Fisheries further calling on her to be 'honest' with her electorates.
However, in a major twist to the senators story, Isiolo County Chief Officer Mr. Salad Tutana, while clarifying that Isiolo County has been implementing DRSLP projects for close to five(5) years contrary to the senator's allegations, he came close to mentioning the senator by name as he outlined the 'facts' behind the 'boreholes' saga complete with the relevant documentation as shown in the screenshot of his Facebook post where he also called on politicians to refrain from seeking political mileage as it is terming it 'unfair' those who do their best to implement such important projects.
Aides of Senator Dullo that we reached out have however refuted the claims and maintain that she was a 'key lobbyist for the project' and deserves 'every bit of it' as outlined by herself.
ICBN shall keep you posted about any developments pertaining the above piece.
Till then...
