Firearm and ammunition recovered from suspects |
It was nabbed on the motor cycle KMEL 671 A model;TVS belonging to one of the suspects Mohamed Abdi Erbo hidden under the rider's seat in his presence.
This happened in the wake of Matiangi's impromptu visit to Isiolo and issued a terse warning to illegal firearm bearers and politicians inciting the public to violence!
Both motor cycles KMDQ 363Z make;Boxer and KMEL 671A make;TVS have since been detained and are awaiting to be produced in court as exhibit.
The police further recovered a Safaricom plate s/no. 89254021104134836503 of Safaricom no.0793807557 which was found kept next to the pistol. Details have been dispatched to the relevant offices for verification on the actual owner.
The recovered firearm has since been confiscated and is being kept at the station armoury as exhibit awaiting ballistic examination to verify whom it is registered to and from which area it was stolen.
The police have urged the public to be alert especially at this time when terrorism has become a real threat to the public safety.
