First Lady Wato Headlines Women's day In Isiolo County

Isiolo county first lady Wato Kuti this afternoon lead other leaders and locals among them hundreds of women to mark the International Women's Day at Isiolo Stadium.

The function was attended by among others the Isiolo county Secretary Dr. Ahmed Galgalo(Sambile).
The first lady stressed the great role women play in the development of a sound society and asked of all to appreciate their great role in the society.

Mrs Wato who is also a champion of the Beyond Zero movement also spoke about the increased cases of gender violence and sexual abuse especially among young women and girls who are still schooling.
She has also called for greater stricter punishment for offenders.

Mrs. Kuti stressed that the county government led by her husband is committed to make sure women benefit from their fair share as stipulated in the constitution and asked women to be more proactive in finding solution to the problems bedevilling the society saying women should be part of the solution in every problem facing the society.
