NURA DIBA BILLA::THE MCA STRIVING TO DETHRONE SPEAKER HGR

ICBN has learnt that the plot to oust Speaker HGR was hatched by Sericho MCA Nura Diba who hails from the same village with the speaker and also doubles up as his(speaker) MCA.

It is not clear yet why the MCA wants the speaker gone as he is yet to make public his intent to impeach him but sources close to him say they haven't been on the same page about several matters going on in the assembly.

Key among these are hefty holiday allowances package which the speaker disallowed and termed as 'a gross abuse of the public trust in the assembly' which won't be passed under his watch!

It is now a 'wait and see' situation as Isiolo county eagerly waits to usher in the new year for the subsequent events to follow!

More than 200 secondary school students from Anno Mixed/Day Secondary School alias Kambi Garba Academy are about to be deprived of their rights to education following the proprietor's decision to sell off the school to a private developer.

The Proprietor, Mr. Ibrahim Halake Guyo, a former hotelier who later ventured into education started the school as a catering college before later reverting it to a Day Secondary school after failing to attract students to the school. The name Anno College is derived from that as the school is known to many now.

It is not known what caused the proprietor to abruptly shut down the school but what concerns us is the fact that the shut down wasn't done procedurally.
Mr. Ibrahim, a respectable elder in Isiolo county erred greatly in arriving at such a decision which would have far reaching impacts on the young lives of the youth who see Anno College as their gateway to the 'Good Life' which we are all after in the race of life.

Now, more than 200 parents will be faced with the hard task of scouting for school for their children which, by any definition, is not going to be an easy task knowing all the madness and 'brokeness' that comes with njaanuary.
Furthermore, Mr. Ibrahim has not yet disclosed the reason for his decision to close down the school. Poor grades, scanty amenities, government pressure? We can only speculate but the onus is on the owner to come forward and explain vividly his reason for such a horrendous move.

The school is being sold for KSH 4.7 Million to a Garre private developer.

ICBN demands for the proprietor one Mr.Ibrahim Halake Guyo to reconsider this sale which will bring chaos and pandemonium once the schools open on 3rd January 2019.

ICBN shall not relent until this  ugly scenario is reversed and education status of hundreds of innocent students restored to their hopeful status. This is the only way that they can have a decent shot at life!

Mr. Ibrahim Halake Guyo is also a long time friend and political ally and clan mate of Isiolo County Assembly Speaker Hussein Golicha Roba(HGR)

We demand all Isiolo County leaders to act fast and save the lives of these innocent kids if they are to be taken seriously here after!

ISIOLO COUNTY::MCAS HATCH PLAN TO IMPEACH HOUSE SPEAKER AFTER NEW YEAR!

Highly placed sources report that Isiolo Assembly speaker Hussein Golicha's political career may be in jeopardy once again.

According to a very reliable source, a group of three(3) MCAs are planning to present an impeachment motion on the floor of the assembly to oust what they say is 'a deceptive,corrupt and lazy figure in the assembly'.
According to our source who totally refused to disclose the identities of the involved MCAs as he is a P.A of one of them and that the matter is still under deliberation before they go into the hard task of lobbying their fellow MCAs to support the motion once it is presented on the floor.

According to THE PLAN, once the bill is finalised, a female nominated MCA who is among the 'plotters' shall present the bill as the first order of the assembly once the house resumes business after Christmas and new year festivities.

Calls made to speaker HGR and his aides went answered so we are not aware whether he is indeed in the know of the plot to impeach him. However a friend of his who did not wish to be mentioned since he is not acting in any official position has informed ICBN that the said MCA's are driven by selfish interests following refusal by the house speaker to approve some of the 'holiday allowances' awarded to the MCAs saying procedures were not followed in the award.

HGR is also under probe by the EACC and senate following damning reports by the National Auditor that the assembly could not account for the half year  spending in the financial year 2017/18.
If the impeachment goes through,it will be a second attempt on his career since just a few months ago he survived a similar impeachment after Governor Kuti intervened.
It is not clear if the governor will intervene this time round.

Meanwhile, 2019 promises to be a very bad year for the assembly boss.

ISIOLO COUNTY::GOVENOR KUTI TAKES YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT HEAD ON!

Youth unemployment has been and is still a thorn in the flesh of county and national governments.
The rate of unemployment in Kenya stands above 40%. In Isiolo county, the statistics are even scarier as unemployment stands above 60%.

These are statistics that governor Kuti wishes to tackle with utmost urgency as the health sector which was one of his priority areas has been rehabilitated thoroughly.

This is HOW-

A few months ago, Isiolo County Government signed an MoU with Kenya School of Government and  United Nations Development Program(UNDP) whereby UNDP will fund youth drawn from various wards in Isiolo to receive vocational training at the KSG.

The youth shall be armed with various skills and equipped with necessary skills to start,run and manage a business venture.
Those who excel and manage to finish the short courses shall be provided with a special capital to start their own businesses and flourish.

The first batch of 50 students were flagged off for the exercise by Governor Kuti where they underwent intense training for two weeks and came back successfully.

When we sought to know why the first batch haven't been awarded with the promised capital, sources close to the governor informed us that they are yet to pass a bill in the assembly to set aside a special fund for the youth to  borrow from. The source says that shall be Governor Kuti's number one priority once the county resumes business after the festivities.

Isiolo Youth Sasa Summit(IYSS)

Following the success achieved in the piloting stage, the county government has broadened the scope of their reach where 10000(ten thousand) youth will be drawn from all the wards in Isiolo county and trained by the KSG personnel. In the program, a thousand(1000) youths shall be drawn from all the wards. The program dubbed Isiolo Youth Sasa Summit(IYSS) shall take place in February of 2019 if all goes as planned.

Governor Kuti had earlier on emphasized to the youth that
the secret to success lies in self employment and promised to facilitate youth with viable business ideas with capital saying the County government which is itself facing wage bill issues has no ability to absorb all the unemployed youth.

A youth we had spoken to however said the county should be open in its operation saying most youth aren't even aware such a program is in motion. He further said should the County government stick to its word and deliver their promise on the training and capital providence, it shall be a fresh start for the youth of Isiolo County. He further said that such a program could be the blueprint needed to inject a fresh blood into the Isiolo county economy as people especially the youth shall be having money in their pockets and the county government will benefit in the cess collection from such businesses.

GOVERNOR KUTI IN KISUMU AHEAD OF UHC LAUNCH TOMORROW

Governor Dr.Mohamed Abdi Kuti is in Kisumu in preparation for the roll out of the pilot stage of the universal healthcare tomorrow.

The function will be graced by President Uhuru Kenyatta. It will also be attended by local and international dignitaries among them health experts,government functionaries e.g Health C.S Sicily Kariuki; and other government officials among them Governor Dr.Alfred Mutua and Kisumu Governor prof Anyang' Nyong'o!

The pilot stage will be rolled out in four counties namely Isiolo,Machakos,Kisumu and Nyeri.
The pilot stage targets 3.2Million Kenyans living in the mentioned counties.

Governor Kuti who co-chairs the national UHC committee alongside Health C.S Sicily Kariuki said the pilot stage will run for one year and evaluation done after six months. If it is deemed successful, Kuti reiterated that the plan will change lives for millions of Kenyans who are burdened by the cost of accessing health services in the country.

The UHC will be jointly funded by the counties and the national government once it is rolled out fully.
It is also one of the pillars of President Kenyatta's BIG FOUR(4) AGENDA which he hopes would solidify his legacy in this second term he is serving.

Governor is credited as the brainchild of Universal HealthCare as he submitted the proposal to go the universal healthcare way at the Council of Governors where he serves as the Chairperson,Health committee.
Governor Kuti is also a doctor by profession and says health matters in the country is very close to his heart and will do his best to ensure people of Isiolo county and Kenya at large benefit from the best healthcare provision in the region.

FIRST LADY MAGGY DONS TRADITIONAL BORANA CLOTH KNOWN AS 'DHIRAI' AND A TURBAN KNOWN AS 'MALQABATHI'
during Jamhuri day celebration and Kenyans cant seem to get enough of it as they drooled over the photo praising the first lady's sense of style and fashion and some even saying they will acquire the beautiful attire right away.

The photo which has since gone viral was posted on president Kenyatta's official fb handle.

In the photo,the president is also seen donned in ceremonial military attire of a 5-star general which came with a ceremonial cap.

'Dhirai' as it is mostly known to locals in Isiolo is a free flowing dress that is worn by women and is suitable for all occasions.
It also comes in different colours and you can match with it a turban of the same colour and/or also a shawl. Locals also wear it with 'Niqab' and 'Hijab' too just like 'buibui'
The simplicity of the dress has made it even popular among other Kenyan communities such as the Kikuyu,Luo,Kamba,Luhyas among others due to the influence of Borana college students,beauty of integration, you would say!

However, the attire is yet to gain wins in the runway models since local fashion houses mostly avoid it for the more revealing dresses.

Now, with the First Lady of The Republic of Kenya(FLORK) donning the attire to a national function of immense importance to Kenyans, the 'Dhirai' has been granted a clean bill of health and traders in the same should now restock and reevaluate their prices as it shall now be the 'it' thing in the coming few years and maybe beyond.

Other Kenyans call the cloth 'dera' but its original name is 'Dhirai' just so you know.

A lobby group in Isiolo is planning to have the Isiolo International Airport renamed after first colonial African DC Dabaso Wabare of Isiolo County.

Dabaso Wabera was among the towering Borana fellows of yesteryears who contributed greatly to the struggle of Independence in Kenya.

He was appointed the first Afrcan District Commissioner at the onset of independence and continued to serve the Government of mzee Jomo Kenyatta until his assasination along Garbatulla-Sericho road by Somali bandits who wanted to stem his influence among Boranas and Sakuyes who were attempting to secede from Kenya after influence by Somali tribesmen that led to one of the bloodiest government crackdown in Isiolo county and other Northern Frontier District counties. The highly revered DC was in the Company of the then Senior Chief Hajj Galma Dido who was also murdered alongside the DC.

There are a number of landmarks already named after him such as the *Wabera Street* in Nairobi and Wabera Primary School in Isiolo Town which is the biggest public primary school in Isiolo County.

The lobby group is planning to collect 10000 signatures to convince the state to rename the airport in his honour.

Meru elders and MCAs have earlier made claim to rename Isiolo airport after General Mwariama who it is said was a maumau field marshall but their claim was strongly rebuked by Isiolo County leaders who said the airport is in Isiolo and as such they should not make claims to it.

However,after the current developments, we are keenly waiting to see how this quagmire will pan out.

Recently, Isiolo County Government was at pains to explain why the revenue collection was way below the projected annual collection.

Isiolo County only managed to collect local revenue to a tune of Kes 51Million against their initial target of Kes 182 Million.

ICBN has now learnt that Cess collector in Isiolo county are at pains to ensure local business pay their ces in time and in full.
However, they face a myriad challenges to ensure this works out as planned.

We spoke to a cess collector (who did not wish to be named because he was not authorised to speak on behalf of the county government) who intimated to us that one of the major headaches they face is lack of mobility facilities such as motor bikes/vehicles.

They say they face challenges especially in apprehending the errant probox miraa transporters who often defy their orders and speed away from.

Abdi*(not his real name) told us as that he was to us, he had just came back from  a chase where an Errant Probox Muguka transporter had fled forcing them to hire local bodabodas to chase them at their own expense-a process he said was futile as the Probox got away and entered the Meru territory after outspeeding them.

He says the dangers are also very rife as on the very day, the motor bike they had hired hit another motorbike while in high speed chase that almost cost them their lives. They say these incidents happen frequently and is not good for the health of the general public.

They say they have appealed to the county bosses for long to provide them with at least a motorbike to ensure these shameful scenes don't recur but their prayers are yet to be heard.
They say they  will have to keep up with these challenges until the CGI acts on their pleas.

The revered Borana supreme leader has landed in Isiolo this afternoon to a rousing welcome by his subjects.

This is historic as it is the first time ever that ''Abba Gadha'' who is based in Arero, Sidamo,Borana Territory, Ethiopia arrives in Isiolo.

Wasoland which is basically Isiolo County is considered a Borana territory and as such falls under Abba Gadha's jurisdiction.

Other Borana territories under the jurosdiction of Abba Gadha Borana is Tana River where Abba Gadha  will also visit after Isiolo.

Jaal Falimatu sacrificed her university degree and joined the rebel group Oromo Liberation Front(OLF) to fight for her land,heritage and dignity.

The Journalist recently took to his facebook to announce that Jaal Falimatu may be no more according to her fellow fighters who only recently got their freedom following the election of the new Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr.Abiy Ahmed who has undertaken several measures to ensure human rights and freedom is entrenched in one of the most dictatorial countries in Africa.

Jaal Falimatu according to her fellow fighters is said to have been assassinated by the Ethiopian regime and her remains buried in an undisclosed  location.

Yassin Juma was banned from setting foot on the Ethiopian soil and the then Foreign affairs minister even fired a letter to the Kenyan leadership in protest over the story shown on Kenyan media which caught the world attention on the grave human rights abuses being perpetrated by the Tigrayan Ethiopian regime.

Juma sought her(Jaal) out so that he could cover his new documentary ''Returning To Ethiopia'' nine years after the Ethiopian regime barred him from entering the country.

Reports say that a year ago, Jaal Falimatu settled in the hotbed of Oromo struggle, a place called Ambo and even gave birth. Shortly after,it is reported Ethiopian millitary dragged her from her house and has never been heard of since.

Experts familiar with how the Ethiopian regime works say that it would be futile to expect her alive as thousands of Oromo rebels or dissidents have been assassinated in the same manner.

Its heart wrenching to learn that after sacrificing so much for the struggle,she is not around to celebrate in the joys of freedom the Oromo people fought for for so long.

ISIOLO NORTH PEACE TOURNAMENT DOGGED BY CONTROVERSY!!!

The Isiolo North peace tournament which ended yesterday has been dogged by controversy after teams drawn from Isiolo North constituency complained of neglect by the organisers of the tournament which is Isiolo North NGCDF officials. INNGAAF said the tournament was organized jointly by them and FKF Isiolo but FKF officials have distanced themselves from the event saying the planning was shoddy and they were only asked to provide the referee which they did, said the FKF official who did not wish to be named because he didnt have the authority to represent the organization.

Waso Football Club captain from Merti Sub county Mr.Adan Mohamed Huka alias Kamau complained that the representatives of area MP and FKF officials neglected them forcing the players some of whom were drawn from far flung areas such as Dadacha Bassa,Korbesa, Biliqi et cetera were forced to spend the night without supper and breakfast for days.
They say they were also stranded in Isiolo town as most had no relations in the resort city.

Another player who did not want to be named for fear of victimization says it was absolutely shameful that the winners of the tournament took home only a paltry kes10000(ten thousand) with the runners up and the rest going home empty handed. He furtehr added that during Samal regime,the winners got paid kes 100000 and wondered why it was different this time.

He also added that the referee was paid only kes 200 to officiate the match while the standard applicable rates are kes 3000.

They also complained that most of them did not have official shoes for the tournament and resorted to borrowing unsuitable shoes and some forced to play barefoot. They are asking this to be put in consideration next time .

They are now appealing to Isiolo North Legislator and the chief patron of the tournament Hon.Hassan Odha to step in and solve this quagmire.

Odha's PA Mr.Zizama Duba however refuted the claims saying all the teams were provided with lunch,supper and allowances as per the games they played and said those saying otherwise are only after witch hunt.

BREAKING NEWS!!! MONEY LAUNDERING RACKET BUSTED IN ISIOLO!!!

Two men have been arrested in Isiolo town in connection with six gold bars weighing approximately five(5)KGs with a current market value of more than 20 Million and fake foreign currencies worth at least 10Million.
The currencies included dollars,euros and sterling pounds.

Police raided a local guest house after a tip off from the public and arrested the two who were Mr.Abdi Mohamed Wario(24) and Mr. Abdullahi Hassan aged(23)

The two will be arraigned in court tomorrow.
