GOVERNOR KUTI IN KISUMU AHEAD OF UHC LAUNCH TOMORROW

Dr.Mohamed Abdi Kuti:Governor-Isiolo County


Governor Dr.Mohamed Abdi Kuti is in Kisumu in preparation for the roll out of the pilot stage of the universal healthcare tomorrow.

The function will be graced by President Uhuru Kenyatta. It will also be attended by local and international dignitaries among them health experts,government functionaries e.g Health C.S Sicily Kariuki; and other government officials among them Governor Dr.Alfred Mutua and Kisumu Governor prof Anyang' Nyong'o!

The pilot stage will be rolled out in four counties namely Isiolo,Machakos,Kisumu and Nyeri.
The pilot stage targets 3.2Million Kenyans living in the mentioned counties.

Governor Kuti who co-chairs the national UHC committee alongside Health C.S Sicily Kariuki said the pilot stage will run for one year and evaluation done after six months. If it is deemed successful, Kuti reiterated that the plan will change lives for millions of Kenyans who are burdened by the cost of accessing health services in the country.

The UHC will be jointly funded by the counties and the national government once it is rolled out fully.
It is also one of the pillars of President Kenyatta's BIG FOUR(4) AGENDA which he hopes would solidify his legacy in this second term he is serving.

Governor is credited as the brainchild of Universal HealthCare as he submitted the proposal to go the universal healthcare way at the Council of Governors where he serves as the Chairperson,Health committee.
Governor Kuti is also a doctor by profession and says health matters in the country is very close to his heart and will do his best to ensure people of Isiolo county and Kenya at large benefit from the best healthcare provision in the region.
