Sericho Initiative for Girl child Education and Empowerment(SIGEE) is a new CBO formed by like minded individuals who sought to change the fate of hundreds of girls from Sericho and neighbouring towns who do not meet their full potential because of ancient traditions that a section of the society still practices and holds on to. These are vices such as the FGM and early marriages which have caused many a girl trauma and life time scars and regrets.
The founders of the organization giving girls hope maintain that they shall deal with this old fashioned traditions head on and ensure girls in the locality are able to scale their full potential in education and personal development by standing up for them and rooting for then whenever it matters.
''Our organization was born as a result of collective efforts from liberal minded individuals in the area who are willing to stand up and protect the girl child rights because girls are the future in any society''. said a Mr. mawlid who serves as the organization's chair while speaking on the phone with one of our correspondents.
As a commemoration for their official launch in the region(Sericho location), the organization sponsored a football tournament whose result are as follows:-

√Super Eagles won by 3-0.
The two winners met where the match ended on a 3-3 draw by fulltime.
