ISIOLO: GOVERNOR KUTI CALLS FOR CONCERTED EFFORTS IN IMPROVING EDUCATION STANDARDS
Isiolo Governor Governor Kuti earlier this afternoon called on all education stakeholders to make concerted efforts to ensure the poor educational statistics are reversed citing poor performance by both KCPE and KCSE students during last years national examinations.
He was speaking during a forum to improve education standards held at Isiolo Boys' Secondary school which was attended by various education stakeholders from across the county.
He said if proper steps are not taken at this early stage to reverse the situation as it is, there is a possibility of some people missing out on the current projects that the county government and the national government are implementing at the moment. He says most of the institutions that will be commissioned in the near future shall need skilled labour emphasizing the need to get more students making a transition to the colleges and universities and at all levels of education.
Gov Kuti also cited a number of challenges e.g poor infrastructure, absenteeism, inadequate staff and learning facilities that he says may have resulted to the poor performance at both primary and secondary levels of education.
He says his government shall go out of its way to invest in the education sector since it is one of the key ways in which poverty can be alleviated or its effects mitigated.
He says the county government has disbursed more than Kes 35M in bursaries alone and has radically reformed the early childhood education(ECDE) which is a devolved function.
The function was also attended by a number of MCAs which include Wabera ward rep Abdi Duba who serves as the chair of education committee at the Isiolo county assembly.

#ICBNXCLUSIVE: ACTIVISTS PILE PRESSURE ON CHARRI MCA TO RETURN THE PIECE OF LAND HE ALLEGEDLY GRABBED FROM A LADY TEACHER
The controversial Charri MCA Ali Dima is under a negative spotlight yet again after allegations of land grabbing was leveled against him which has been gaining momentum for the better part of this week.
The victim of Dima's cruel theft this time happened to be a lady whom we can only identify as Madam Shuke, an iconic teacher from Marti who is believed to be the first woman to ever get a university degree from the area. Madam Shuke is a person living with disability and many who are pushing the case on her behalf believe the MCA is taking advantage of her condition to defraud her of the land she purchased through sheer hard work.
What is even more complicating is the fact that the case had been in court and the errant MCA had been ordered by the court to return the land he grabbed from the complainant but has refused to budge saying he was sold the land by some Samburu folks, something which didn't go well with the netizens who have vowed to push until the said MCA returns the land.
The MCA has been accused of similar cases in the past some which have been very high profile.
Back in 2017,ICBN received a story about him defrauding a senior member of the then Afresa campaign allied to the then senate aspirant Hussein Golicha to a tune of 4 million after selling him a piece of land that did not exist but did not go to publishing after he settled it out of the court with his victim.
The activists on this case now want the MCA to return the piece of land before Friday prayers this afternoon or else they will take other drastic measures to ensure Madam Shuke gets justice.
Mr. Ali Dima is a practicing Muslim and usually prays at Isiolo's Jamia mosque.
We shall be following this case very slowly and shall let you know of any more updates as they come.
This particular MCA has earned himself notoriety for land grabbing and he should be stopped in his tracks before he visits further damage on the community.

ISIOLO: KISUMU AND MACHAKOS GOVERNORS JOIN GOV KUTI FOR THE LAUNCH OF ISIOLO COUNTY'S HEALTH BLUEPRINT!
Isiolo County Teaching and Referral Hospital(ICTRH) was a beehive of activities earlier this afternoon as the county government of Isiolo officially launched its long anticipated health blueprint that is expected to change how health services is dispensed in the country once the government adopts the Universal Health Care(U.H.C) program that is currently in its pilot stage of implementation in four counties namely Isiolo,Machakos,Nyeri and Kisumu.
Governor Kuti was joined by Machakos governor Dr.Alfred Mutua and Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang' Nyongo Who witnessed the rolling out of the facilities that is expected to ease the workload of the Community Health Volunteers(CHVs).
*Primary Healthcare*
The county government in its objective to enhance primary healthcare have trained and equipped more than 300 CHVs whose graduation coincided with the launch earlier today.
The CHVs now have access to smartphone fitted with software that tracks the health statistics of various medical cases under their watch and helps in among other things when a certain mother has attended her antenatal visit or when a malnourished child is liable for another appointment with its nutritionist.
The CHVs now have tens of motorcycles and a fulltime four wheel vehicle to supervise their activities.
In a revolution change from the past regime where CHVs were neglected and little done to ease their situation and also enable them to earn a decent living while on their heroic medical activities among their community, the County Government of Isiolo now pays them generous stipends that shall in the long run be revised as the program takes shape in the coming days.
Today's event also served as a celebration of sorts for both the county government and the Living Goods Limited after a harrowing and protracted political battle launched by Senator Dhullo who claimed the public-private partnership(PPP) deal signed between Isiolo county the the Living Goods Ltd was faulty and was below par esp in its compliance with the various statutory requirements as provided under the new constitution.
The treasury would later give the partnership a clean bill of health whose peak culminated in today's Living Goods inauguration.
Governors Mutua and Nyong'o hailed Isiolo county's health sector as one of the most iconic they have met anywhere and promised to replicate the model in their individual counties health sector saying it had the potential to allow more households especially from poor backgrounds access to quality health services.
They also called on the local leaders to work hand in hand with governor Kuti and support him in his mission to revolutionize Isiolo county's health sector emphasizing that a healthy county translates to a healthy development in other sectors.
Health also makes up one of the 4 pillars of President Kenyatta's BIG FOUR(4) AGENDA. The health pillar is modelled on Isiolo county's model of health care.

ISIOLO: WATER USERS ASK IWASCO TO 'GET THEIR ACT TOGETHER'!
Isiolo Water and Sewerage Company(IWASCO) has come under fire from a number of their clients who wanted to know why their taps are dry for a consecutive two weeks without any notification whatsoever from the authorities at I.W.A.S.C.O.
A Mr. Ali Godana, who is the one credited for kicking off the storm in social media called on the entity to shed some light on the anomaly since they can no longer suffer in silence. He says they shall not keep quiet until their grievances are addressed and called on the Isiolo Facebook community to 'wage the war' on IWASCO NRT style until it learns to treat its clients with the respect they deserve.
The calls were later taken on by bloggers among them Kulayo who says he is concerned by the numerous fingers being pointed at the entity for shoddy services offered to its clients. He says the entity should be accountable to their clients and give them the services they pay for.
Others would later open up about their bizarre treatment by the entity. One lady says her taps have been dry for almost two months for reasons she doesn't know. She also adds that she has been to IWASCO's offices on numerous occasion and nothing changed and now says she has lost hope on them and purchases water for her daily family use at high prices from 'mkokoteni water vendors'. This is according to one of the comments by the lady whom we cannot mention because we do not have her permission on the matter.
