BREAKING!!! GOVERNOR KUTI RETAINS HIS POST AS THE CHAIR OF CoGs HEALTH COMMITTEE!
Isiolo Governor Dr.Mohamed Abdi Kuti has been reelected as the chairperson of CoGs Health Committee in the council elections that happened today which also saw Kakamega Governor Wycliff Oparanya elected as the chair of CoG.
Governor Kuti's retention is a clear indication of the monumental achievements realized under his leadership at the committee.
Governor Kuti was the brain behind the ground breaking Universal Health Coverage(UHC) whose pilot plan was launched in December at Kisumu.
UHC has so far been rolled out in four counties including Isiolo county which has been a major reprieve especially for the low income members of our society who are mostly affected by the expensive cost of medication in the country.
Governor Kuto has also ensured health matters in his county is a thing of the past. Health sector in Isiolo was in ruins when the incumbent took over but it has since undergone major reforms with hospitals abundantly stacked with medicine and critical sectors such as radiology and Dialysis running efficiently.
ICBN commends Governor Kuti for being a visionary leader. We wish to also call on him to now invest more in youth empowerment in the county with the same energy.

Merti Subcounty:
Students of Merti Muslim girls have taken to the streets demanding for the transfer of their principal who they claim is the cause of the poor performance the school has been posting in the recent years.

The students also allege despite paying huge fees to the school, the food they are offered is unpalatable!
They also claim they are always a long way from covering the syllabus something the principal has never addressed.
The school also lack teachers and a whole range of what they call 'booster' subjects such as history, agriculture and physics.
They also claim thought the school has a matron, sick students are not taken care of and suffer so much.
They said no one gives a hoot about the plight of the boarders since the teachers and even the principal doesnt care saying none of them boarders are their kids.(how pathetic of a teacher).
Students further claim all the apparatus and chemicals in their laboratories are either obsolete or expired since they have never been restocked.
They nkw claim they wont rest until the principal and her deputy is transferred from the school!
We will be keeping you abreast on any new developments on these.

BULLA PESA WARD::RESIDENTS ANGERED BY THE NEGLECT FROM ISIOLO COUNTY GOVERNMENT!
A boy cycling his bycicle in the dirty pool covering Fakir Bridge:The residents say they are unable to take kids to school when it rains because the bridge gets flooded! |
Residents in Bulla Pesa are about to go to the streets to protest what they say is neglect by the Isiolo County Government which is led by Governor Dr. Mohamed Abdi Kuti-a darling of the Bulla Pesa ward, by far, the most populous ward in Isiolo county.
Bulla has overtime proved itself as the most important ward in Daktari Kuti's politics but they are now fed up saying the state of infrastructure in the area are nothing to write home about.
The pictures you see are those of The Fakir Bridge which is the only infrastructure connecting the Bulla residents to the town. Any person who has lived in Bulla knows how important this bridge is.
It is the determiner of whether you will make it to town for your business and also for the kids to make it to school, when it rains, it usually overflows amd has once claimed the lives of at least 3 persons including a school going kid.
The sad part is that this bridge was refurbished just a few months ago and the contractor paid for the full amount of kes 4.5 million but look what it is today!
Those familiar with the issue say the contractor was just a tenderpreneur who was illegally enriched by the ICG for doing nothing. ''All the contractor did was carry murram from wherever and dumping it there, no construction or rebuilding took place.ICG conspired with tenderpreneurs to fleece us''. Said Abdi wario, a resident whose children were unable to make to school this morning following the rains that pounded the area last night.
The residents are now calling the county government especially the governor Kuti who they said is the only person they would hold accountable should their plight not be considered if/when he seeks reelection come the year 2022.
''We elected governor Kuti, we do not know all these people telling us a lot of nothing. Should he renege on his promise of changing our lives, I humbly urge him to stay 100 miles from Bulla Pesa in 2022. We cannot be enslaved forever.''
The residents are also concerned as to why the only public dispensary in the area is yet to be operational despite being constructed shortly after Dr. Kuti was elected for the first time as the MP for Isiolo North, almost 20 years back!
Good luck to the people of Bulla as they seek answers from 'their' Government!
